A bug in iOS 9 can make your iPhone feel much faster. You do this by switching off the so-called system animations. We show you how it works.
Disable system animations

Recently, a Reddit user discovered a way to make your iOS devices feel much faster. To do this, the system animations in iOS 9 must be turned off. The system animations are the transitions you see when you open and close an app, for example. While it is not possible to disable these animations, there is a trick to hide them. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Open the Settings app and tap ‘General> Accessible’ and swipe down;
- Under the heading ‘Interaction’ you will see the function ‘AssistiveTouch’. Make sure this feature is enabled;
- After this, a transparent button will appear on the right side of the screen. Return to your home screen and move the button to the bottom right corner;
- Then swipe down on the screen to activate Spotlight;
- Notice that when Spotlight is turned on, the AssistiveTouch button moves up. You need to close Spotlight again as soon as the button above the keyboard shoots. You do this by tapping the screen. Repeat this a few times until you have the right timing;
- After a (quite) number of tries, you will notice that the Spotlight animations are much faster. You have successfully disabled the system animations.
When you now navigate through the interface, you immediately notice that iOS feels much faster. You can then remove the button by switching off AssistiveTouch again. If you still want to return to the normal settings, restart your iOS device.
