Instagram has added a function that makes you respond a lot faster. That is, if you often use emojis. This is how the new Instagram emoji bar works.
Instagram emoji bar lets you respond quickly
Comments under Instagram posts are regularly accompanied by different emojis for many users. Previously, to add an emoji in your comment, you would have to select the emoji keyboard first. Quite inconvenient when you use emojis a lot and regularly. Instagram has now found something for that.
The app has added an emoji shortcut bar that appears when you want to comment under a post. The bar is above the typing bar and shows your most used icons. Do you still want to use a different emoji? Then you will still have to search and select it in the old way.
In addition, the emoji function only appears when you reply to a post. When you are making a post yourself or responding to an Instagram Story, the bar does not appear. Facebook’s subsidiary wants to use this feature to allow people to respond and communicate as easily as possible. According to the company, the reactions under a photo are the place where emojis are most often used.
Emojis are used en masse especially on Instagram. In March 2015, half of all text on the platform was emojis. This has led the social medium to investigate trends in the icons, partly by means of machine learning. This allows them to respond better to what users want, for example through the shortcut that has now been added.
The new feature has been tested with a limited number of users since May, but has been available to everyone since the last update. To use the emoji feature, you must have the latest version of the app. It is now available in the App Store.
