With some simple tricks you can adjust the Start menu in Windows to taste.
Make start menu wider
It is useful to make the Start menu a bit wider. This is how it works:
- Click the button at the bottom left Start.
- The Start menu expands. Move the mouse pointer to the right side of the menu. The pointer changes to a horizontal arrow.
- Hold down the left mouse button and move the arrow to the right. This makes the Start menu wider. Make the menu smaller again by moving the arrow to the left.
- Release the mouse button when you get the desired width.
Move block of tiles
Windows 10 groups tiles in the Start menu into a block. You can move this block.
- Mouse over the name of a block.
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag the block to the desired location.
- Then release the mouse button.
Resize tiles
Is the tile a little too small or too big? Change the format.
- Right click on a tile.
- Point in the shortcut menu Resize at.
- click on Small, Medium size, wide or Big.
Turn off dynamic content
Some tiles have dynamic content. The text moves. You can turn this off:
- Right-click on a tile with moving content.
- click on More.
- click on Disable Live Tile.
