Troubleshoot WiFi problems on iPhone, iPad or Mac

You may sometimes experience problems with your WiFi. The wireless network does not work properly, drops out or in the worst case you cannot connect to the internet at all. Then it is advisable to solve the WiFi problems with the tips below.

Before you get started, it is best to check whether all your devices have problems with the internet or whether it only works on your iPhone or iPad. In addition, it is advisable to first disconnect the modem of your internet connection from the power network. Wait a few moments and then reconnect it. Then you can force restart your iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Solve WiFi problems by forgetting the network

If the above does not help, it is best to forget your network and reconnect it, this can be done via:

  • Go to Settings’
  • Choose ‘Wi-Fi’
  • Tap the i button next to the Wi-Fi network
  • On the new page, select ‘Forget this network’
  • Confirm by tapping ‘Forget’
  • Restart your device and reconnect to the network

On a Mac you can do this via  ▸ System settings ▸ WiFi ▸ three dots next to the network ▸ Forget this network.

If the above solutions do not help, it is best to restore the network settings on your iPhone or iPad.

  • Open Settings
  • Go to ‘General’
  • Choose ‘Transfer or set [apparaat] again in’
  • Tap ‘Reset’
  • Choose ‘Restore network settings’

Once this is complete, you will need to reconnect to your WiFi network. If, to make matters worse, the above does not help, it is best to contact your internet provider. There may be problems with your modem or internet settings from your provider.
