The new design is based on Liquid Glass, a new technique that brings Apple to all its devices. The new interface gives Apple TV a sparkling appearance by reflecting and distorting surrounding content in real time. In the new design, your entertainment is always central, even if you wash forward or reverse, set a timer for the sleep, adjusts the volume or set a scene for a movie evening in the control panel.
The new interface is loosely based on Visionos and is characterized by glassy, ​​transparent elements, rounded buttons and floating menus. This emphasizes the simplicity, which is good for the user experience. The way of operating for some apps has also been taken into account. For example, various apps have become more minimalist and options are hidden behind extra menus.
Profiles change when starting up

With a profile you can automatically log in to apps and set your own preferences in, for example, the Apple TV app and activate your personal music library in the music app. From TVOS 26 you can set that you automatically see all profiles when Apple TV comes out of the slumber mode. Tvos 26 also includes a new developer-api that links Logins to an Apple account. When you log in to a new device for the first time, all your favorite apps, series and films are quickly within reach.

Facetime in TVOS 26 looks the same as in iOS. If you start a FaceTime conversation on your Apple TV, the contact poster appears in the picture, including self-chosen photo and name. Live captions are now also available in German, French, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish. During your FaceTime interviews, Apple TV can therefore show live captions in even more languages ​​using the integrated AI. Furthermore, a report appears for the active profile if a FaceTime audio call or a phone call arrives. Through that report, the user can take the conversation with that profile via a connected HomePod speaker or his own iPhone.
Sing along with Apple Music Sing

Apple Music Sing is the Karaoke function of Apple and mainly comes into its own on the Apple TV. Sing goes further than just displaying the lyrics. In the text, for example, it is indicated in real time what to sing and you can determine the volume of the singing lines.
In TVOS 26, singing along is even more fun. Your iPhone becomes a microphone for Apple TV, so that you can jog on full volume with your favorite songs. This way you can easily build a party with your friends, because everyone with an iPhone can put a new song in the queue and respond with an emoji.
If you use Apple Music Sing, you see visual effects and the lyrics on the screen, making singing even more fun. To use your iPhone as a microphone you do need an iPhone 11 and newer with Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) with the latest operating system.
