Use iPhone or iPad keyboard as a trackpad

Want to quickly move the mouse pointer on your iPhone or iPad? Then you can use a hidden option. It is possible to transform the keyboard of your iPhone or iPad into a trackpad. This allows you to quickly move the cursor within a text using a trick.

Thanks to the convenient way of activation, it is quite simple and works on all iPhone and iPad models with iOS 12 or newer. Thanks to the trackpad, you can move the pointer quickly and an annoying dragging movement with the cursor itself is unnecessary.

The keys disappear and make way for a trackpad, hold your finger on the screen and move it. You will notice that the mouse pointer moves along. Release to position the mouse pointer. The trackpad option can only be used when the keyboard is active to enter text.

Activate Trackpad with iOS 11 or older

If you still have iOS 9, 10 or 11, you can activate the trackpad using 3D touch on an iPhone 6s or newer (except SE). Press firmly on the keyboard to activate the trackpad and move the mouse pointer by moving your finger (more info). On an iPad you can do this by placing two fingers on the keyboard and moving them (more info).
