Find People to see where friends and family are up to and stay up-to-date on their locations. This is how you use the watchOS 6 app on your Apple Watch.
Using Search People in watchOS 6
Years of Apple users know ‘Find My Friends’, an app to share your location with others. Since iOS 13, this application has been given a fresh look and is simply called ‘Find my’. Starting with watchOS 6, Apple Watch users can get started with Find People, which replaces Find My Friends. That is how it works:
- Open Find people on your Apple Watch, recognizable by the radar icon;
- Tap on ‘Share my location’ and select ‘Dictation’;
- Then choose ‘Contacts’ and go to ‘Keypad’ to choose a friend;
- Select an email address or phone number and choose whether you want to share your location with them for an hour, until tonight, or forever.
Once you confirm this, your friend will be notified that you have shared your location. Then they can easily share their location with you. You can receive location updates for each contact by tapping ‘Report to me’. Do you no longer want to share your location? Then tap the person’s name on the Search People screen, then tap Stop Sharing.

- Turn the Digital Crown to view more friends and tap someone’s name to view their location on a map;
- Tap the icon in the top left of the screen to go back to the friends list.
