Flyover city tour feature removed
Apple has removed the Flyover city tour feature from Apple Maps, a feature that existed since 2014 and automatically guided users around landmarks in major cities with 3D aerial views. The feature disappeared around the launch of iOS 26 in September 2025, but because Apple made no official announcement and the feature was likely little used, the removal was barely noticeable. The regular Flyover footage itself will remain available in more than 350 cities, so users can still manually view 3D bird’s-eye images of landmarks, parks and buildings. Only the automated tour function, which you could previously start by tapping the Flyover icon when searching for a city, has been permanently removed from the app.
