MacOS has been expanded over the years with various accessibility options. This makes it possible for people with a disability to use macOS. MacOS Sequoia has added a new feature, namely the possibility to display the text under the mouse pointer larger.
The new function works when you place the mouse pointer on a text in the screen or type text. You must first activate the functions before you can use them. The display of the enlarged text can be adjusted.

Activate the ‘Show text Bigger Text Onder Wijzwijzer’
You activate the accessibility option as follows:
- Go through the MacOS system preferences via the Apple logo in the top left of the menu bar.

In the screen that appears now, you can activate the function. Two functions are available: ‘Display text under a pointer larger’ and ‘Give text under a pointer larger during types’. You activate the function by activating the switch behind the function.
With the information symbol behind the switch you can adjust the enlarged display. You can change the font, text size, color, background and more.

In the preferences you can also indicate in combination with which test ‘display text under pointer larger’ should be activated. By default, it is set to the CMD key.
How do you use ‘Show text under pointer larger’
When the function is switched on, hold down the CMD key and move the pointer over a text. This text will be magnified enlarged on the screen.
Also possible while typing
In the accessibility options you will also find the function ‘Give text under pointer larger during types’. This function works the same as the aforementioned function, but it is only active in typing text. The function is automatically activated when typing text and does not have to be activated with a special key.
