Viewing tips: Netflix films and series especially for Easter

CIA officer Eva Geller tracks down a mysterious man. When he receives international attention for disrupting public order, she starts an investigation into him.

And the international media also pay positive attention to this charismatic figure. This illuminating docudrama series chronicles Moses’ remarkable life as prince, prophet and more with insights from theologians and historians. It is a docudrama that fits perfectly with the atmosphere of Easter.

Additionally, the three-part series will follow the same storytelling format as previously released historical docudramas Queen Cleopatra and Alexander: The Making of a God, both of which are available for streaming on Netflix. The series was directed by Benjamin Ross, with Emre Sahin, Kelly McPherson, Sarah Wetherbee, Fikret Manoglu, Brian Nelson, and Sam Anzel serving as executive producers.

In season 1 of Happy we were already introduced to Nick Sax, a hit man, former detective and father of Hailey. Christmas played an important role in the first season, season two is the sequel and has Easter as the main theme.

As Nick and his family grapple with trauma, nuns explode on 5th Avenue. Possibly a plan by Sonny Shine to put Easter in a bad light. The popular star and childhood friend wants to give Easter a makeover and does everything he can to realize his absurd plans. It’s up to Nick to take care of this crazy man once and for all, but he still has to be careful with Blue Scaramucci.

Happy! is a great series with the second season taking place during Easter. The series is packed with black humor, strange situations and the necessary violence. Not suitable for children, but fun for adults. Recommended!

Thomas Richardson’s sister is kidnapped by a mysterious religious sect and a ransom is demanded. Thomas plans to join the community to save her and travels to a remote island in rural Wales.

At first the community seems to be doing well and they live in peaceful harmony, until the arrival of Thomas causes unrest. The harvest fails and when sheep are born dead they are convinced they are being punished. Soon their true colors emerge and they target Thomas. Yet they underestimate what the man is capable of. The first blood and it builds up to a gruesome finale in an oppressive way. Apostle sometimes has similarities with the agony of Jesus, is scary, exciting, extremely bloody, but still atmospheric.

Irish nationalist rebels proclaimed the Irish republic on Easter Monday. The rebellion lasted only six days, but is cherished in Ireland as an important event. The series tells the story of this political landslide from the perspective of three young women. When the Easter Rising turns into a bloody battle, no one can remain aloof. The three women and their families must choose sides.
