An iPhone 6S will not suddenly be out of date on that date, because the technology in the smartphone is so good that it can last for a few more years. Are you looking for a new iPhone, but you do not necessarily need the latest of the latest, then wait a while until the iPhone 7 is there. The main reason: it’s a lot more beneficial for your wallet.
iPhone 7 is not making a huge step

1. Apple lowers the iPhone 6S price
When introducing a new phone, Apple usually lowers the prices of the penultimate device. For example, the iPhone 6 currently costs 639 euros (16GB) and 749 euros (64GB). The iPhone 6S now costs 749 euros (16GB) and 859 euros (64GB). That saves 110 euros per version. The same differences can be seen with the Plus models.
