Samsung is likely to announce the new Galaxy Note 20 during the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5. What can we expect from the phone?
Although Samsung did not let us know exactly what to expect on August 5, it is obvious that a new Note phone will be unveiled. Many rumors point to the arrival of this smartphone and from the rumors you can already get some interesting information.
Two versions
First of all, it seems that we can expect two versions of the Note: a regular version and a larger Ultra variant. Apart from the difference in size, little is known about how the two devices differ from each other.
However, images of the Note 20 leaked, which most likely correspond to reality, given that Samsung accidentally leaked them on its Russian site. The phone has many similarities with its predecessor, with only minor adjustments made to the selfie camera. Furthermore, the sides are rounded.
At the back of the device we find four camera sensors, including a periscopic zoom lens that we also find in the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the P30 Pro from Huawei. There could also be a 3D sensor on the device.
New S-Pen?
Furthermore, it is obvious that Samsung will free up space in the device to store the possibly renewed S-Pen. Samsung has probably dealt with the input lag of the pen. The old S-Pen doesn’t respond nearly as fast as the Apple Pencil. By improving the pen, Samsung could finally offer a good alternative to the pen from Apple. The response time of the new S-Pen is rumored to be 9 milliseconds, just like Apple’s pen. Partly due to the reduced lag, Samsung would have opted for the Note 20 for a 120Hz display over a screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz, as with the Note 10.
The specifications of the device will also be tightened again compared to the previous model with the Snapdragon 865 processor from Qualcomm or perhaps the Snapdragon 865 Plus, which would be slightly faster.
In a Twitter post on Ice Universe’s account, which is more often right, it is stated that the Note will cost $ 20,999, converted a little over $ 885.
This would make the device about 50 dollars more expensive than the last year released Note 10. In the Netherlands that device cost 949 euros, so it would not be surprising if Samsung chooses to stick a price tag of 999 euros on the new device.
