We saw it coming for a while and now it has been confirmed, Apple has officially discontinued the Mac Pro and disappeared from the website. According to confirmations to 9to5Mac Apple no longer has plans for future Mac Pro hardware, marking a clear shift toward other pro desktop options.

The Mac Pro page now leads to the general Mac homepage, without any mention of the high-end model. This decision comes after a long period without significant updates, while competitors such as the Mac Studio have continued to develop.

Alternative app stores seemed promising, but due to the strict conditions, high costs and complicated procedures, more and more providers are choosing to close their alternative app stores. An example of this is MacPaw, which has tried to set up a full-fledged app store in the EU, but without success.

Despite hopes for more competition and lower costs from Apple’s mandatory opening of the ecosystem, providers are hampered by high costs such as the Core Technology Fee of €0.50 per installation, low adoption by both developers and users, and complex business rules that make it difficult to keep subscription models profitable.

Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro 3. The new version number is 8B39and includes bug fixes and optimizations. Previously, new features were also introduced in conjunction with software update 16, including: camera control functions, sleep detection and battery notifications.

You can read up on the Apple website a support document (Dutch) back which improvements and fixes Apple has made and/or new options have been added. The AirPods are automatically provided with the new firmware, but updating manually is unfortunately a difficult job.

Last week, Apple released the Worldwide Developers Conference WWDC26 announced, which will start on June 8. Furthermore, Apple has released software updates 26.4, but also for older software versions and the AirPods firmware. In addition, Apple has confirmed the end of the Mac Pro.

From June 8 to June 12, numerous online sessions will take place especially for developers. Apple will kick off the online event on June 8 with a press presentation in which they will announce software updates for their major products.

We can expect iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and tvOS 27, among others. In addition, various announcements regarding Apple Intelligence (artificial intelligence) may take place. The WWDC is mainly intended for software, attending workshops and it is the place where developers can meet each other online. Perhaps hardware products such as a new Mac Pro will also be announced.
