In this weekly overview we list the most important Apple news for you and you will also find the most popular tips from the past days.

Last week was entirely devoted to WWDC25 and the announcements regarding the software updates for this fall. For example, Apple iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos Tahoe, Watchos 26, Visionos 26 and TVOS 26 announced. Furthermore, it became clear that Apple Intelligence will become available in Dutch.

Apple announces new software updates: new design and functions for all platforms

During the WWDC 2025, Apple announced new software updates for the fall as expected. The most important new functions are the completely renewed interface and design for all platforms, brand new camera app, extensions for internship manager and new opportunities for Apple Intelligence.

There is another striking feature that characterizes the software updates: the naming. Apple immediately makes the leap to iOS 26, iPados 26, MacOS 26, Watchos 26, TVOS 26 and Visionos 26. MacOS Tahoe is the last macOS version for Intel Macs

During the State of the Union event platforms, Apple announced that Intel Macs next year no MacOS 27 will get. The software updates for these Macs will be limited from next year to security updates.

The support for Intel Macs is phased out because Apple wants to put all its focus and innovation on the Macs with Apple Silicon. In 2020, Apple started the transition to Apple Silicon with the launch of the M1 Mac machines. Two years ago the company completed the transition to Apple Silicon for all Macs and no new Intel Macs were made.

With effect from iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos Tahoe, Watchos 26 and TVOS 26, Apple heralds a new era. Since iOS 7, the design, design and looks of the software has remained more or less the same, but after twelve years that will finally change.

On the WWDC 2025, Apple has announced the new versions of iOS, iPados, MacOS, Visionos, TVOS and Watchos. If you expected this iOS 19, Watchos 12 or MacOS 16, then you’re wrong. Apple has chosen to use dates instead of the Versien numbers as we know them from the past.

The versions that Apple uses are purely marketing -based songs. Apple can fit the OS versions that they themselves like best and sounds best with a release and/or device.
