This skull was found while digging up the garden and is about 15 cm long.

Answer
Dear Tina,
I think you’re dealing with a pelvis here, rather than a skull, and more specifically the pelvis of a bird. The hole you see on the side is where the femur connects to the pelvis. Typical for a bird pelvis is that the pubis is thin, set back and left and right sides not connected in the middle. The pubic bone is that very narrow leg splint that runs from under the hole for the femur to the right. Judging by the size, this should be a goose or swan or something, because not many bird species in our area have such a large beak.
Best regards
Dominique
