What is the connection between MTV and cultural globalization?

I once found an explanation but it was very difficult to understand so I’m looking for an explanation with ‘normal’ words.

Answer

Cultural globalization means that also in the field of culture, more and more things, everywhere in the world, are starting to proceed in the same way. For example, young people, wherever they are in the world, will listen to the same music, watch the same clips. MTV is contributing to this phenomenon by putting the same clips on cable everywhere, by finding sponsors, and so on. And it is an interaction: everywhere young people receive the same offer and their tastes evolve towards each other. On the other hand, there are tastes that evolve towards each other, for example due to increased contacts such as travel, TV, internet… and as a result these young people also ask for the same forms of relaxation.

In the 15th century Europe experienced something similar: everywhere scholars started to speak and write Latin again, and the result was that the different countries in Europe were then culturally close to each other. It was then only a very small minority of the population.
