WhatsApp comes with major improvements (this will change)

WhatsApp has announced several improvements before the holidays. They are coming with an update for both audio and video calls. According to Meta (the parent company of WhatsApp), the quality of calls will be improved, but more new features are on the way.

Meta said in a blog post that calling via WhatsApp is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. More than 2 billion calls are made every day worldwide via the popular chat app.

One of the new features now lets you choose participants for group calls in a group chat, so you don’t disturb the rest of the group members. Handy if you are planning a surprise party or a joint gift. Meta also adds new effects to video calls. This allows you, among other things, to show puppy ears on your face while calling.

However, the most important improvements are in the quality of calls. Meta says they will improve the desktop app to make it easier to make calls via the computer. They will also significantly improve the quality of video calls on all devices. This will be implemented for individual calls and group calls.

WhatsApp will stop on old iPhones

WhatsApp also recently said that older iPhones will soon no longer support the application. WhatsApp currently still works on all iPhones running iOS 12 or newer, but that will change in a few months. Then iPhones must have iOS 15 or newer installed to use the application.
