Small brown creatures with a length of 3 mm come from between the crack of the parquet. Head and torso. On the other side of the common wall with the neighbors is a bathroom.

Answer
Dear Christa,
Based on this photo it is not possible to say with 100% certainty which beetle it is. A first possibility is the death beater or the woodworm Anobium punctatum. The beetles usually fly from April to August. In the case of the woodworm, you should also observe fine drill dust on the parquet, as well as very small exit openings of the beetle, size of the exit openings 1 to 2 mm. Perhaps the parquet is not the source of the problem, but rather a wooden artifact, a chair or old cupboard, a wooden ceiling, etc. I would first check the wood for fine dust and small gaps.
A beetle that is very similar to the woodworm is the bread beetle Stegobium paniceum. Only with the aid of a stereomicroscope can you clearly distinguish between the two species. The bread beetle is a typical stock-destroyer that can be found in a variety of often starchy goods, such as macaroni, biscuits, dog food, grain, flour, bread, rusk, etc.
In addition, there are also other stock damage agents that closely resemble the bread beetle, such as the tobacco beetle Lasioderma serricorne. Correct identification is only possible by stereomicroscopic examination of the beetles.
If desired, you can always transfer a few beetles to ILVO (Diagnosis Center for Plants, Burg. Van Gansberghelaan 96, 9820 Merelbeke). Correct identification of the species can hopefully lead to finding the source of infection, and this is a prerequisite for tackling the problem thoroughly.
Kind regards,
Hans
