Which products are made from Petroleum?

With so much talk about the fact that there will be no more oil in 2050, I wonder what the impact will be on our daily lives.

Because oil is needed for many products, except to make the product (energy) or to compose the product (composition).

Answer

The petrochemical industry is actually the sector that makes the raw materials for all our plastics from petroleum.

This concerns PE, PP, PET, PS, PVC… so basically all packaging materials.

But also about PMMA, Nylon, Aramides (kevlar), these are substances that are used in spectacle lenses, clothing, car parts, aircraft parts, etc.

If you look around yourself you see plastics everywhere (clothes, furniture, cars, paints,…).

All this comes from petrochemicals, so the higher the oil price, the higher the raw material price and production price.
