Who invented beliefs like Islam or Christianity?

The Christian faith is based on the Bible written by many people over many hundreds of years. The Christian faith itself is based on the stories of the evangelists and on the letters of Paul. And for more than 2000 years what they wrote has appealed to people… And since the 7th century of our era, so have the writings that Muhammad recorded in the Qur’an.

Is this made up? Yes and no… If your mom or dad say you are a ray of sunshine in their lives, is that also ‘made up’? No: they say something with an image, a comparison that they can’t say otherwise. You too may have already made up games with your friends. Is that wrong? Not if you hurt or bully someone with it. And movies on TV: are they real? Yes as a movie, but also made up at the same time… Mega Mindy, Gnome Plop, Winnie the Pooh, Ratatouille, Harry Potter…and – if you don’t tell more – even Santa Claus and Santa Claus…

People – and not just children – like to have ‘fictions’, stories, images,… to express something that is important to them. But not everyone likes every story equally. That’s up to you to decide… And some stories for children are sometimes even wonderful and educational stories for adults.
