Why do all planets revolve around the sun in the same direction?

How come not one of the planets in our solar system orbits the sun in the opposite direction? They all rotate in the same direction and in the same plane. How did that happen?

The bottom line is that all the planets formed from the same disk of dust and gas that orbited the young sun, as a by-product of the sun’s formation.
