Why the AirPods Pro are a must for your next festival

We are quite bothered by input from time to time, sound that not only gives your ears, but also your brain a considerable bombastic load. But Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 turn out to be great earplugs to counter that.

Admittedly: sometimes a concert is a bit intense. Especially during King’s Day, crawling into a shell is quite nice. And then there’s the blessing of Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 helping you out.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 give you peace of mind

One of the standout things about AirPods Pro 2 is something Apple calls Adaptive Transparency mode. It follows on from the Transparency Mode feature Apple introduced with the original AirPods Pro. In other words, you can understand everyone and ignore everyone.

This allows you to hear or cancel out ambient noise from what’s going on around you. This feature works in tandem with improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). And it’s an ideal way to keep your hearing healthy. You determine the input yourself.

A new piece from Highsnobiety highlights how AirPods Pro 2 can “help your hearing at music festivals.”

We’re all going deaf

It should be clear that hearing damage is now really a challenge. And with simple steps we can prevent this. The report releases data from the World Health Organization showing that more than 700,000,000 people worldwide will experience severe hearing loss by 2050.

Part of this is almost entirely due to exposure to loud music at festivals and concerts, something the AirPods Pro 2 can counter.

“In general, EDM (electronic dance music) festivals can be in the 100-120 dB range, which can have adverse effects on our hearing at festivals like Glastonbury or Boomtown.”

And so with all due respect: this also happens during EDM moments in the Netherlands. A Metallica concert doesn’t help either.

For reference, Apple says the following sound levels and exposure times can cause temporary or even long-term hearing loss:

  • 80 dB: About 5 hours and 30 minutes a day
  • 85 dB: About 1 hour and 45 minutes per day
  • 90 dB: About 30 minutes a day
  • 95 dB: Only 10 minutes a day
  • 100 dB: Even a few minutes a day

In other words: those Apple AirPods Pro 2 not only sound great, they also protect a very important sense. Don’t underestimate your ears.
