Netflix for iOS has been updated and is now a lot easier to operate. You can binge watch faster with these three new features.
Netflix marathons are going even faster
Netflix has given its iOS app a simple, but very useful update. The streaming service has improved the operation of the app in various ways, allowing you to go through series and films faster. In addition, the update is also available for tvOS, so the functions will work on the Apple TV.
Whether you’re someone who often skips the start of a movie, or a series addicted binge watcher, Netflix wants to make it as easy as possible for all viewers. These are the new functions that make Netflixing a bit easier again.
1. Skipping faster
Netflix makes it easy to fast forward or skip to a specific clip. Especially useful if, for example, you want to watch something back, or have seen a movie before. You do this by tapping twice on the left or right side of the screen to fast forward or rewind.

We already know this way of fast forwarding and rewinding from the YouTube app. Here, this has long been the way to skip parts of a video. You can fast forward or backward ten seconds with a double tap.
2. Larger buttons
The second improvement is to enlarge the play and pause button. In addition, labels have been added to enable easier subtitles or to select new episodes. Previously, you had to open a menu at the top right and select the language in which you want the audio and subtitles. The label should ensure that viewers can enable this more quickly.
3. Always click through to the next episode
For the real binge watchers, a ‘Next Episode’ button has finally been added to the screen. Normally, a button appears along with the credits of a series episode and counts down to automatically advance to the next.
You can also press this immediately to go straight to the next episode. With the new button you can switch from a video stream to a new episode even earlier and faster, without having to wait for the subtitles.
iPad support and viewing tips
Recently, Netflix has already added support for the brand new iPad Pros to the iOS app. This is a whole new format due to the front-filling screen of Apple’s tablet. Do you not yet know which series or films you want to try out the new functions? Then check out our five Netflix tips for November.
