Now that most of us are staying close to home this summer, a week of camping is the way for many to get that holiday feeling. Your iPhone will also come in handy during your camping trip. These are the best camping apps.

7 useful apps for camping

Are you going out with your caravan or tent this summer? Then you will undoubtedly take your iPhone with you. And luckily, because this one comes in handy on the road. We have listed a number of useful apps for camping.

1. Camper contact

If you are traveling with a motorhome, Campercontact should not be missing on your iPhone. In the app you can see a large database of locations in more than 50 countries. Here you can see places where you can park your motorhome, or where you can park your motorhome on the campsite.

With the search and filter function you can find all locations nearby. In the app you check reviews from other motorhome owners about the locations. Based on this, you can determine a good place to settle down with your camper. Have you discovered a new location? Then help other campers by adding them to the app.

2. Camping

Looking for a beautiful camping spot in nature? With the Kamperen app you can discover about 138 beautiful locations in the Netherlands and France. These are only natural areas, so don’t expect large family campsites. Peace, space and good sanitary facilities are given priority.

If you decide to camp at one of the locations in the app, it is important that you also have a Natuurkampeerkaart. You get this at Het Groene Boekje that you can buy at (travel) bookstores, or order it through this website.

3. ACSI Small & Fine Camping

Do you prefer a small campsite? Then you can easily find it in the app. Here you look for one campsite from the 2000 options, after which you can immediately reserve a spot. Do you like to go on the bonnet? By turning on location services, you can immediately see which small campsites are nearby.

In the app you can also see immediately whether there are motorhome pitches available. The app is free to use for a number of selected campsites, but if you want to find more campsites you will have to pull your wallet for that. You pay 2.99 euros for all camping information. If you also want access to the 9000 camper pitches, you pay 7.99 euros.

4. ACSI Campsites Europe

The name says it all: this app helps you find a camping spot throughout Europe. The application can even be used offline. If you are already on the road, you can easily book a picture directly via the app.

You can also save your favorite campsites, so that you can easily find them later. The app is continuously updated with reviews from fellow campers, so you always get up-to-date information.

5. ANWB Holiday Assistance

If you travel by car or camper, the ANWB Holiday Help is essential. The app is not only useful if you have bad luck on the road. You will also find traffic information, toll locations, tips in case of theft or loss, a phrase book and local emergency numbers. You will also find a checklist of what you should not forget before you set off.

In addition, you can always reach the ANWB via the app. The app can only be used for ANWB members. It is also important that you create an ANWB account. You can also store your digital membership card in the app, so that you always have it at hand.

6. Halide

While you are standing in the beautiful nature with your tent or caravan, you naturally want to be able to take beautiful pictures. Halide is a good photography app made by Dutch designers. The app is very intuitive so you can get started in no time.

Halide lets you shoot RAW photos, which is not possible with iOS’s default Camera app. Shooting RAW photos doesn’t automatically compress the photo so you can edit them later.

7. Albelli photo book, photo calendar

After your camping trip, you naturally want to bundle your holiday snaps. This is very easy with the Albelli app. Here you put all the photos you want to keep, after which you can also edit them if necessary.

If all your photos are in it, you can even turn it into a photo booklet or photo calendar in the app. Crop or zoom your photos and divide them across the pages. You can now order your holiday photo book via the app, so that you can browse through it the old-fashioned way in no time.
