Renders of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the more powerful variant of the regular Xiaomi 12, have surfaced. The device appears with a camera developed in collaboration with camera manufacturer Leica. In total there are five lenses and as you can see they occupy half the back of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra Renders
Some smartphone enthusiasts don’t want a regular Samsung Galaxy S22 or Xiaomi 12. No, they go for Ultra. At the end of December, Xiaomi presented its Xiaomi 12 flagship in China which, according to rumors, will also be presented this month in the Netherlands and Belgium. An Ultra variant of the device will also be released and it has already been leaked by the Chinese mydrivers†
As you can see, Xiaomi is taking a different tack with the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The phone has a completely different design compared to the Xiaomi 12 and it also looks completely different from the Xiaomi 11 Ultra. The second screen on the back has disappeared and makes way for a larger camera setup.
We also know a little more about the features of that camera. Xiaomi succeeds in joining forces with the German camera brand Leica, which has collaborated with competitor Huawei for years. In addition to a huge main camera sensor, the Ultra variant gets a wide-angle camera, a telephoto camera and a periscope camera. The latter is good for a range of 5x optical zoom.
Other specifications
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will continue to work with a 120 Hz AMOLED display with a high QHD resolution. The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and gets a solid 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The battery this time is a 5,000 mAh one that you will be able to charge with a 120W or 150W fast charger.
The leaked renders about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra confirm previous leaks from China. According to a recent leak, the Xiaomi 12 will be announced globally on March 15. The phone will then be on display at an online event along with the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the cheaper Xiaomi 12X. It is not known when we will also see the Ultra variant.
