The OnePlus 8 was announced last week, including a more expensive Pro version. What can we expect from the devices?
Both smartphones support 5G and come with 12 GB or 8 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 865 chipset. The standard version comes in two flavors and price ranges. You can choose from a device with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory for a price from 699 euros and from a model with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory for a price of 799 euros. You can buy the devices in the colors Glacial Green and Interstellar Glow (only the most expensive option), in addition to the standard black color (only the cheapest option).
The Pro version is available with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory for 899 euros or with 12 GB RAM with 256 GB internal storage for 999 euros. The Pro version is not available in Interstellar Glow, but in Ultramarine Blue, in addition to the aforementioned colors.
The Pro variant has also received an IP68 certification, making the device dust and water resistant. Previously, OnePlus did not want to know about this, because this would make the phone unnecessarily expensive. Despite this, the company gave in at the insistence of users.

Specifications and camera
The OnePlus 8 gets a 6.5-inch full-HD AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 by 2400 pixels and, like the previous models, there is a fingerprint scanner in the screen to unlock your phone. The screen of the Pro version is 6.78-inch with a resolution of 3168 by 1440 pixels.
On the back of the device you will find three cameras: a main camera, a wide-angle camera and a macro camera. The Pro version exchanges the macro camera for a telephoto camera and a color camera, making this device best suited for long-distance photography and the use of color filters.

Fast charging
Both devices can be charged very quickly using the Warp Charge 30T technology. According to OnePlus, the devices can charge 50% of the battery in less than half an hour, the Pro version can even charge that a little faster, but the differences are minimal. In addition, both devices would also be 20% more efficient in energy consumption compared to the predecessor.
The advantage of the Pro version over the standard edition is that it also supports wireless charging and even reverse charging. With this last technique it is possible to use your phone to charge other smartphones or accessories wirelessly.
Both devices can already be ordered, but will be shipped from April 21.
