The popular chatbot knows the answer to almost everything. But now you can also search the Internet the ‘Google’ way with ChatGPT.
Searching with ChatGPT: this is how it works
Of course, you could always search for information with ChatGPT, and you did that mainly by asking questions. Now that is changing, because it is now possible to search with ChatGPT, just like you are used to with Google.
Search with ChatGPT is available from today on the website chatgpt.combut you can also use the app on your iPhone. Currently, only users with a paid account will have access, but the feature will be available to everyone in the coming months.
You search in the same way as with Google. You will see the search results in a clear list, without advertising for the time being. Each result also shows the website where the information is available today. With this you can always get more information and thus also view the source.
Depending on the questions you ask, the answers will look slightly different. For example, if you search for the weather forecast for tomorrow, you will also see a small visual representation.
However, it is always smart to take a look at the information from the source if chatGPT comes up with answers after searching. The service still warns that information is not always correct.
ChatGPT is also coming to Apple Intelligence
Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence, the company’s own AI technology, at WWDC 2024. Almost all Apple apps that are standard on your iPhone are expanded with useful new functions.
This also applies to Siri, because Apple’s voice assistant becomes much smarter by supporting artificial intelligence. To improve Siri, Apple has also teamed up with OpenAI, giving the voice assistant access to ChatGPT.
Apple Intelligence is not yet officially available in Europe. Apple recently indicated that it will take until April 2025. You also need an iPhone 15 Pro (€ 984) or better to use it.
