Dear Amber,
for example if you stand in the sun, in front of a bright white wall you will indeed see your shadow on that wall. The earth moves at 30 km/second in its orbit around the sun, with everything on that earth. So you move so fast, but so does that wall behind you. Opposite that wall you actually stand still, so you don’t see your shadow moving on it. After all, that wall moves with you.
