With the E-tron GT, in addition to the E-tron and E-tron Sportback, Audi now also has an EV in the price list that is lower on its wheels. You just have to bring more than a ton in euros to get in. How will the E-tron GT look if you do not put any ticks on the option list? In this edition of Back to Basics we find out.
Audi E-tron GT 60 quattro

Indeed, the entry rate of the E-tron GT is today higher than that of its Porsche brother, the Taycan. It is also available with purely rear-wheel drive, the price of which is € 87,200. It is obvious that there is also a cheaper variant of the E-tron GT in the pipeline, but for now we have to make do with the 476 hp strong 60 quattro as the base model. If you place it next to the 435 hp Taycan 4S, the Audi suddenly offers a lot of value for money. The 60 quattro is about € 6,000 cheaper, has more power as standard and the larger battery of 93 kWh is already included in the starting price. At Porsche you have to pay an additional € 6,866 for this.
Currently, the E-tron GT is available in two flavors: as a 60 quattro and as an RS E-tron GT with 600 hp, which should yield at least € 146,295. Early risers can opt for the limited edition Edition Zero and Edition Zero Competition, which are in the price list for € 127,995. In fact, these versions are no more than a bundle of various options, such as the Assistance package Plus, the Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium audio system, Matrix LED headlights and 21-inch wheels. Badges in the interior and on the rear side windows should alert the ignorant that you were one of the first to run to the Audi dealer for an E-tron GT.
Stormtrooper
Okay, back to basics. As standard, the E-tron GT is painted in the color Ibis white, which, in combination with the clean lines of the car, is somewhat reminiscent of the stormtroopers from Star Wars. If you prefer a different color, there are eight other options in the palette, including the striking ‘Tactic Green’ and ‘Tango Red’. At no extra charge, Audi screws 19-inch wheels with an aerodynamic design. In principle, the ‘grille’ differs in color and is finished in ‘Heklagrijs’. For people who enjoy as much light as possible in the interior, there is good news, because a glass panoramic roof is standard. Would you rather not have a glass roof? That is possible, but then you have to opt for the carbon roof at € 4,525.
LED lighting at the front and rear is always present, but for matrix LED and dynamic indicators the cut must be pulled. If that is not advanced enough, you can opt for € 5,526 for Matrix LED headlights with laser light. These are distinguished by, among other things, X-shaped LEDs in the headlights and a light animation when the car is unlocked. Furthermore, the E-tron GT always has a loading opening on both the driver and passenger side, so you do not have to take this into account when parking. However, DC charging is only possible on the passenger side. Both a Mode 3 charging cable and a home charger for a standard socket are included for charging. With that parking it will probably also be fine, because Parking Assist Plus with reversing camera is always on the E-tron GT.
Almost everything digital
Inside the E-tron GT, Audi has made the choice to return to physical buttons for part of the operation, in contrast to a large proportion of the other models of the brand. That does not mean that the rest of the car is suddenly analog, on the contrary. The E-tron GT always has the Virtual Cockpit and MMI Navigation Plus on board. You can also use Audi Connect for 3 years and DAB +, the Audi Smartphone Interface for Apple Carplay and the Audi Phone Box for wireless charging of the phone are also standard. You can also preheat the interior remotely and the seats in the front can be heated. The furniture is formed by 8-way electrically adjustable sports seats which are upholstered in a combination of leather and imitation leather, with only the center panels of the front and outer rear seats covered in leather. The decorative frame is finished in graphite gray. If desired, you can further spice up the interior of the E-tron GT with other trim strips and upholstery colors. In principle, the interior lighting of the E-tron GT is white, but for € 688 you can also opt for the light package with mood lighting that can be set in multiple colors.
Other comfort enhancing features on board the E-tron GT are the light and rain sensor, Keyless Go and the electric tailgate. The interior and exterior mirrors are always automatically dimming. The Audi sound system with 10 speakers and 150 watts of power provides music in the interior if desired. If that is not enough, you can also opt for the Bang & Olufsen audio system at € 1,448. Various driving modes can be set via Audi Drive Select, whereby the dampers are also adjustable as standard. In terms of safety systems, Lane Departure Warning, Pre Sense front and automatic speed control are standard. For things like adaptive cruise control, a blind spot assistant and autonomous driving in a traffic jam, however, ticks must be placed on the option list.
In short, without ticking the option list of the Audi E-tron GT, you certainly do not have a scanty car. For the truly innovative and eye-catching functions that match the futuristic nature of the car, however, you have to make the cut. Some notable options are the aforementioned Matrix LED headlights with laser light and the carbon roof, a night vision assistant (€ 2,595), carbon-ceramic brakes (from € 10,258) and the Dynamic package plus, with a differential lock on the rear axle, adaptive air suspension for € 5,900. , four-wheel steering and an ‘acoustical vehicle sound sport’. Then we have not even named all available options, so you can still have fun with the options list.
