BMW 4-series Coupé and Convertible thousands of euros less expensive

Less for less

BMW 4 Series BMW Operating System 8

At a time when cars are becoming more and more expensive (well, except Tesla then …) BMW is lowering the prices of the 4-series Coupé and Convertible by thousands of euros. And that while the 4-series has been renewed on the inside. What’s up with that?

BMW recently implemented an update on the complete 4-series. Like the facelifted 3 Series, the BMW 4 Series Coupé, Convertible and Gran Coupé now have the BMW Operating System 8 infotainment system as standard on board. This goes hand in hand with apparently knotted screens that replace the traditional covered clock shop and the infotainment screen placed separately.

The update makes the BMW 4-series Coupé and Convertible, with the exception of the M4s, thousands of euros cheaper across the board. Prices will drop to €3,192, although the 4-series Cabrio M440i, 420d, 430d and M440d will have to make do with price reductions of €2,192, €1,911 and €1,910 respectively. Definitely not wrong. At €65,460 (42oi), the starting price of the 4-series Coupé is now more than 5 percent lower than before. The starting prices of the 4-series Gran Coupé and the M4 Coupé and M4 Convertible will increase by €303 across the board. That price increase is probably due to the fact that the Shadow Line package, which includes high-gloss black window frames and B-pillars, is now standard.

Why are the 4-series Coupé and 4-series Cabrio now available for lower amounts in the order books? Well now: the High Executive Pack, which includes leather upholstery, an alarm system, width-adjustable backrests, heated seats and BMW Live Cockpit, is no longer standard from now on. For the 4-series Coupé, that package costs €2,995, for the 4-series Cabrio €1,995.
