Infiniti QX60 Monograph is seven seat crystal ball

Infiniti has a new study model: the QX60 Monograph. The concept car serves as a fairly concrete harbinger of a brand new SUV of the brand that is no longer active in Europe.

Infiniti can use a sales boost. Due to lack of success in Europe, the brand withdrew from our continent at the beginning of this year, and in the United States, Infiniti does not record impressive numbers in the sales statistics. The brand is aiming for SUV expansion, and that is of course not a bad choice with the above in mind. Infiniti comes with a coupé derivative of the QX50, launched in 2017, a car that will be called QX55. But there is more news in the pipeline! Infniti will eventually come with a completely new SUV with three rows of seats!

Infiniti pastes the word ‘Monograph’ after the QX60 type name of its just unveiled model. Anyone who has followed the Infiniti news closely in recent years knows that that word is reserved for relatively production-ready study models of the brand. The QX60 is particularly recognizable as an Infiniti and therefore has a muzzle that fits perfectly with the rest of the Infiniti family with its concave lines drawn grille and QX50-like headlights. However, the classification of those viewers is new, it could just be that this segmented LED signature will eventually return to more models of the brand. The rear lights of the brand-new concept car are optically connected by a black strip, something we have not seen before with the brand. More conceptual glimmers? Probably. For example, the door handles are recessed in the doors and there is a very striking rear bumper at the bottom of the buttocks, complete with a part that appears to be made of shiny chrome. Images of the interior will keep Infiniti, just like technical data, to itself for a while. It is likely that the final production version will rely heavily on the QX50 from a technical point of view. Once on the market, the QX60 has to compete against cars like the Lexus RX and the Lincoln Nautilus.

Addition

What does the QX60 add to the Infiniti SUV range? The QX50 has to do with four to five seats, this QX60 is an SUV with three rows of seats and space for seven people. The QX80 offers that just as much, although the SUV affiliated with the Nissan Patrol is of a completely different order. Although ‘QX60’ does not sound familiar to us in Europe, Infiniti has been supplying a car with that name for years in the United States. The model was released in 2012 as JX35, but was renamed QX60 a year later. The current QX60, which is still for sale, is on an extended version of the platform that Nissan used under the penultimate Murano. A big difference from the QX50: the QX60 is a seven-seater with three rows of seats and the new QX60 will therefore follow that concept soon.
