The video has been put online by EverythingApplePro. The well-known YouTuber has made dummy models of the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 mini based on schematic drawings. By comparing these with their predecessors, 4 things stand out.
1. Larger camera lenses for iPhone 13 Pro Max
First, it looks like the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s camera is growing. The individual lenses are much larger than on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The camera island also has a slightly different design. The edges are in fact more incorporated into the housing.
2. More robust housing
Speaking of which, do you have a protective cover on your iPhone 12 Pro Max? This one isn’t going to fit the successor, the YouTuber warns. This is because the camera island is slightly larger. The housing would also be slightly thicker.
3. Narrower notch
It is almost certain that the iPhone 13 series will get a smaller notch. EverythingApplePro also shows that the layout is slightly overhauled. Among other things, the selfie camera would change places.
4. Lightning connection remains
There are rumors that Apple will switch to a completely ‘closed’ iPhone in the coming years, but that will not happen this year. According to the YouTuber, the iPhone 13 has ‘just’ a Lightning connection.

In addition to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, EverythingApplePro has also managed to get its hands on a dummy model of the iPhone 13 mini. The presumably smallest iPhone of 2021 seems to be almost identical to the current iPhone 12 mini.
We find the biggest difference on the back. The camera of the iPhone 13 mini would namely be placed diagonally, instead of vertically. In addition, the volume and power buttons would also move a little more to the top of the housing.
