Spy shots Skoda Elroq

The Enyaq is currently the only electric Skoda, but it won’t stay that way for long. The Czechs have a fleet of new EVs in the development rooms, including this Elroq. The Skoda Elroq will be a direct attack on the Peugeot e-3008, among others.

The Enyaq and Enyaq CoupĂ© are currently pulling Skoda’s EV cart, but the Czechs have not lost their minds. The management in Mladá Boleslav has a series of new electric models in the pipeline. In April 2023, Skoda looked ahead to what it will bring in the electrical field in the coming years, based on a number of ‘sculptures’. That turned out to be a lot. In these spy photos you see one of the newcomers: the electric Skoda Elroq.

Skoda electric offensive

Skoda’s preview of the Elroq (2023).

The Skoda Elroq, like the brand’s other electric newcomers, is topped with a design language that the brand has called Modern Solid. It will be about 4.5 meters long, which means it will be 20 centimeters shorter than the Enyaq. Where you can in fact see the Enyaq as the electrical equivalent of the Kodiaq, the Elroq becomes that of the Karoq positioned below it. It will therefore be a direct competitor to the Peugeot e-3008 and Ford Explorer.

Skoda must introduce the Elroq to the world in production form this year. It remains to be seen what his arrival means for the Karoq. Skoda previously called the Elroq ‘the electric successor to the Karoq’ and that seems to indicate that this model will no longer have a direct successor with combustion engines. It is not yet clear whether the Karoq will disappear from the market immediately after the arrival of the Elroq or whether it will stay on for a while.

The Elroq will probably have well-known MEB hardware and so you should probably count on 58-kWh and 77-kWh battery packs. In combination with a single electric motor, the Elroq with the largest battery pack could have a range of 500 kilometers.

And further

As mentioned, there are more electric Skodas in the pipeline. It comes with a 4.9 meter long electric SUV with seven seats. That will be the production version of this Vision 7S Concept. Skoda also has an electric station wagon in the pipeline. That will come in 2026. An electric crossover will appear in the so-called B segment in 2025: the Epiq. This will be an electric equivalent of the Kamiq and you can therefore see it as Skoda’s alternative to the Volkswagen ID2 ‘SUV’. Finally, the Enyaq and Enyaq CoupĂ© will eventually receive a facelift to bring their design closer to Skoda’s actual new EVs.
