Peugeot has given the 5008 a facelift. Just as important as the modern styling cues is the amount of new features now available for the SUV.

Two days after the renewal of the 3008, it is now the turn of the seven-seater Peugeot 5008 SUV. It gets a more refined, modern design with a frameless grille at the front. Gloss black side panels and a skid plate in the color of the body are incorporated in the bumper. From now on, you do not have to order front fog lights separately: a Foggy Mode function, integrated in the Full LED headlights, switches on automatically as soon as the rear fog lights are activated. The rear light units have also been slightly modified.

As with the 3008, you can now tick the Black Pack when ordering the 5008. Various design elements are thus executed in a dark color. New 19-inch light-alloy wheels are available for the GT Pack ‘equipment package’ (see below). The seven body shades also include two new colors, Vertigo Blue and Celebes Blue. What has not changed is the enormous space that the trunk offers: 780 to 1,940 liters.

Interior

Peugeot equips the 5008 with the latest version of its digital i-Cockpit. The 12.3-inch instrument panel can be arranged as desired. The central touchscreen is now 10.0 inches in size. Toggle switches remain available for the most important comfort functions. The SUV models with fuel engine and automatic transmission, like the plug-in hybrids, now have a selection button on the center console. This allows you to choose from the Normal, Sport and Eco driving modes.

Of course, the latest technical gadgets should not be missed. Think of Night Vision, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function on the automatic versions, Lane Positioning Assist and an adapted emergency braking system. Smartphones can be charged wirelessly using induction and used on the multimedia screen thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Peugeot promises an improved finish and beautiful new materials such as Red Nappa leather upholstery for the GT.

Versions

Peugeots is also implementing the new approach to the delivery program on the 5008. This means that the SUV will not only be available in the three trim levels Active, Allure and GT, but also in a ‘pack version’: each level can be expanded with a extra option package. With the exception of the entry-level petrol version PureTech 130, the fuel versions can be ordered with economical EAT8 automatic transmission. Sales will start this year.
