Voyah Free is a premium electric SUV

The brand new Voyah has presented its first production model: the Free. The Free is an electric SUV that is far from free, with the plug-in SUV Voyah is aiming at the premium corner of the car country.

In October this year, the very young Chinese brand Voyah showed the i-Free, a study model that anticipated its first production goal for the mainly electric-car sub-brand of Chinese giant Dongfeng. The ‘i-‘ has been erased from the model name and the result is this Voyah Free, a 4.9 meter long and 1.95 meter wide electric SUV with a wheelbase of barely three meters.

In terms of size, the Voyah Free is comparable to cars such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. Unlike those German SUVs, this Free has a fully electric powertrain that gives the car quite impressive figures. Thanks to two electric motors, the Voyah Free is 680 hp and 1,000 Nm strong, enough power to launch the SUV to a speed of 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. The top speed is 200 km / h. The range is 500 kilometers (NEDC).

Although Voyah focuses mainly on EVs, the Free is a car that you can also get on board with a combustion engine. The petrol engine, a blown 1.5, then acts as a range extender that recharges the battery pack. The Free is therefore electrically powered in all cases. Voyah stuffs the Free with 24 sensors and cameras, displays that span the entire width of the dashboard, 5G connectivity, night vision cameras and a intelligent digital assistant that you can chat to. The system is also able to listen to individual occupants. Handy if you want to enjoy a cooler breeze as a rear passenger.

The Free must have a starting price of around € 50,000. Dongfeng has no concrete plans to bring Voyah to Europe as yet.
