2 ways to quickly close all tabs in Safari

Do you work in Safari and do you regularly have a lot of tabs open at the same time that you don’t actually use? Then it can be useful to close them all at once, except for the page you are actively working on. In this tip you can read how it works.

1. Use the right mouse button

The first way to close all open Safari tabs at once is to go with your mouse in the menu bar to the cross of your active tab (which must therefore remain open), tap the right mouse button and then choose for ‘Close other tabs’.

All tabs that you are not using are then closed in one go. This makes the browser look a lot quieter and clearer.

2. Key combinations

You can also choose to use a key combination, which allows you to close open tabs even faster. One way is to press the Option button on your keyboard, then click the cross on the tab that should remain open. This keeps Safari (and your Mac) nice and fast and you are less distracted by opened web pages.

Even easier is to use the key combination ‘Option-Command-W’, where you just have to make sure that your active tab is open in Safari.
