New ahead of used
In less than three weeks, about one-fifth of the SEPP subsidy available this year for the purchase of a new electric car has run out. There is no reason to hurry for the time being, as there is still about €55 million available.
This year you can again receive a subsidy for the purchase or lease of a new or used electric car. The subsidy pot was capped on 10 January and after four days more than 10 percent of the subsidy budget intended for the purchase of a new electric car had already been used. The fact that a relatively large number of people went to their computers shortly after the new subsidy amount became available to make use of the scheme is evident from the fact that it took considerably longer than four days before the next 10 percent had been used up.
The figures from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, which have been updated up to and including Monday 30 January, show that €12.55 million of the €67 million available this year for the purchase or lease of a new electric car have already been requested. That means 19 percent of the $67 million has been forgiven. You can receive a €2,950 subsidy on a new electric car with a catalog value of up to €45,000. This means that subsidies have been applied for for about 4,254 new electric cars. There is still no reason to hurry with applying for a SEPP subsidy. After all, there is still €54.45 million (81 percent) in subsidy budget available for new electric cars. Subsidies can be applied for for another 18,458 new EVs.
Subsidy for used electric car
In addition to the €67 million available this year to boost the purchase or lease of new EVs, a SEPP subsidy budget is also available for the purchase or lease of used electric cars. A €32.4 million SEPP subsidy budget is available to boost the purchase of used electric cars. In less than three weeks, €4.97 million of this was requested (15.3 percent). You can receive a €2,000 subsidy on the purchase of an electric used car with an original catalog value of €45,000. This means that a subsidy has been applied for for 2,485 used EVs. There is still €27.43 million SEPP subsidy available for the purchase of a used electric car (84.7 percent). That means that there is a budget for another 13,715 electric used cars.
The total subsidy pot was filled this year with an amount of €99.4 million. A total of €17.52 million has been applied for (17.6 percent), leaving €81.88 million left (82.4 percent).
