The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra partly provides images of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the Seine in Paris and during the Olympic sailing competitions. For example, no fewer than 200 Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones will be used at the opening ceremony in Paris.
200 Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones at opening ceremony
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will take place outside a stadium for the first time this year. The 10,500 participating athletes of Paris 2024 will sail on the Seine in special boats. The parade departs from the Austerlitz Bridge and follows a six kilometer route through the center of Paris, passing a number of official locations of the Olympic Games. The grand finale of the ceremony will take place at the Trocadéro.
To bring sports fans closer to their favorite athletes, Samsung will attach more than 200 Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones to the bow and sides of the 85 vessels in the opening ceremony. The HDR images that the devices capture are streamed via a private 5G network.
Galaxy S24 Ultra also in sailing competitions
Samsung uses the same technology at the sailing competitions in Marseille. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is mounted on every racing boat, allowing sailing fans to experience the race up close, right next to their favorite sailors. This takes into account different water and weather conditions, such as strong winds, high waves, or extremely hot and sunny weather. Samsung and its partners meet these challenges with the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s optical image stabilization (OIS), additional transmission power and relay towers on the dinghy.
More details about how Samsung will bring sports fans and athletes together will be revealed soon.
