2022 record year for Ducati

Last year Ducati won the Triple Crown in both World Superbike and MotoGP for the first time in history, but that’s not the only success the Italians have achieved. Ducati also ended 2022 with record sales, revenue and operating profit figures.

2022 record year for Ducati

For the first time in its history, Ducati’s turnover passed the figure of 1 billion euros (1,089 million euros), an increase of 24 percent compared to 2021 (878 million euros), thanks to an attractive product portfolio that resulted in higher sales volumes.

The operating profit is also remarkable with a record of 109 million euros, which corresponds to a huge growth of 77 percent compared to 2021 (61 million euros). As a result, the profitability level also increased to a double-digit margin of 10 percent.

2022 was also exceptional on a commercial level. Ducati ended the year with a record 61,562 motorcycles delivered to Ducatists worldwide, a growth of 3.6 percent compared to 2021.

The sales network continued to grow over the past year, getting closer to Ducatisti around the world. By the end of 2022, there will be 821 Ducati dealers, the highest number ever, which, with the addition of the new markets Brunei, Ecuador, El Salvador and Mongolia, will represent Ducati in a whopping 96 markets.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati:

“For the first time in our history, we have passed the 60,000 motorcycle mark and exceeded €1 billion in revenue. This makes 2022 the best year ever for Ducati in several respects, from great sales and financial performance to the successes in MotoGP and WorldSBK.

We are in a positive trend that has seen Ducati grow in recent years and establish itself as an increasingly solid company. As a brand that is an expression of Made in Italy, innovation, design and technology, we remain focused on delivering exciting experiences on and off motorcycles to passionate Ducatisti around the world.”

Henning Jens, CFO Ducati:

“I am pleased to announce a record financial and profitability growth for Ducati for the second year in a row. Achieving such results despite the supply chain disruption that will affect the automotive sector in the course of 2022 is a remarkable achievement from the entire Ducati Group. We were also able to continue the self-funded investment plan in R&D, infrastructure and digitalization that was on our agenda for 2022.”
