2023 Yamaha MT-07 gets TFT color display

It took a while, but at Yamaha they have finally made the step from LCD to a TFT color display. The 2023 MT-07 is the first bike to now feature a 5″ TFT color display, with Bluetooth connectivity, of course.

From a technical point of view, Yamaha has not modified the MT-07 at all. Well, almost nothing at all, the only difference with the 2022 model is that from 2023 the MT-07 is prepared for a quickshifter. Apart from that and the new TFT color display, there is therefore no difference.

Somehow we get that, since its launch in 2014 more than 160,000 MT-07s have been sold, making it one of the most successful Yamaha models according to Yamaha. To give you an idea: of the total MT family (from MT-125 to MT-10), Yamaha has sold more than 420,000, so almost 40% of that number is accounted for by the 07.

Moreover, Yamaha has renewed the MT-07 in the past year, and with lead times these days around 5 years, an upgrade should have taken a few more years. We think it’s good news that Yamaha has tackled the MT-07 for 2023 and has exchanged the LCD display for a TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity.

After all, it is a display that you look at every time you sit on a motorcycle. An ugly ass is less annoying than an ugly display, because that ass never sees when you are driving and that display is continuous.

It is not yet known when the 2023 MT-07 will be available and how much it will cost.
