3 tips to make WhatsApp more readable for everyone
WhatsApp is one of the most popular apps in the Netherlands. But sometimes the messages on WhatsApp are just not easy to read. Fortunately, you can easily do something about this by, for example, adjusting the default chat theme. But there are even more settings you can adjust to make the text a little more readable! 1. Make text larger
The easiest way to make text more readable in WhatsApp is to increase the default font size. Unfortunately, you cannot do this in WhatsApp itself, but it is possible to adjust it in another way. You do this via the settings of your iPhone. Please keep in mind that other apps will also use these settings.
Make fonts easier to read on your iPhone (and apps like WhatsApp)
- Open the ‘Settings’ on your iPhone;
- Go to ‘Accessibility’;
- Tap ‘Display and text size’;
- Enable the options ‘Bold text’, ‘Larger text’, and ‘Increase contrast’;
If you want to make the text even easier to read, you can also experiment with the other options on the ‘Display and text size’ tab.
2. Customize default chat theme
In WhatsApp you can attach a theme to a chat. By default this is a light background with light green speech bubbles. This is not always easy to read, but it is nice that you can adjust the default chat theme to your liking. This way you can make it a little more readable.
To change the default theme of chats, follow the steps below.
- Open WhatsApp and tap ‘Settings’ at the bottom;
- Choose ‘Chats’;
- Tap ‘Default Chat Theme’;
- Select a background and chat color that are easy to read.
3. Use WhatsApp Web (on iPad)
Of course, your iPhone only has a fairly small screen. A handy trick is to use WhatsApp on a larger screen, such as an iPad.
You will probably have to wait a while for a real iPad app for WhatsApp. But you can use WhatsApp on your iPad in another way. You do this using WhatsApp Web.
- Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and tap ‘Settings’;
- Choose ‘Paired devices’ and tap ‘Pair a device’;
- Open Safari on your iPad and surf to web.whatsapp.com;
- Point your phone’s camera at the iPad screen to scan the code;
- You can now use WhatsApp on your iPad (with a larger screen).
