Before BMW announces it itself, AutoWeek can already tell you what the absolute top version of the electric BMW i7 will cost. The BMW i7 M70 xDrive remains under two tons.

The electric equivalent of the BMW 7 series was initially only available as a 544 hp i7 xDrive60 for which you have to pay €141,752. The i7 very recently received a new entry-level version with only rear-wheel drive. That 455 hp version is called i7 eDrive50, offers a range of 611 kilometers and stands for €122,463 in the order books. In April, BMW pulled the curtain on the absolute top version: the i7 M70 xDrive. No Dutch price was yet known for that M Performance version. Until now!

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive has a Dutch price of €189,877. Of course a huge amount of money, but you do get a hefty amount of electrical power in return. The two electric motors in the i7 M70 xDrive stomp 660 hp and 1,100 Nm to the asphalt. This means that the giant, weighing almost 2.8 tonnes, can reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. You can travel up to 560 kilometers on a full 101.7 kWh battery. The i7 M70 xDrive is the fastest electric BMW to date in a straight line.

Major competitor Mercedes-Benz EQS also has a sporty top version. The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic with its 658 hp powertrain is remarkably comparable in terms of power to the i7 M70 xDrive. The fastest EQS stands for €176,608 on the price list.
