Subsidies available for thousands of new and used EVs

A quarter of the subsidy budget available this year to make the purchase of a new electric car more attractive has been used up. In addition, there seems to be more interest in purchasing a used electric car with a SEPP subsidy.
Just like in 2022, a substantial subsidy pot is available again this year to encourage the purchase (or private lease) of a new or used electric car. The total SEPP subsidy pot has been filled with an amount of €99.4 million, of which €67 million is intended to boost the sale of new electric cars. You can receive a contribution of €2,950 on the purchase of a new electric car with a catalog value of up to €45,000. Of the €67 million available this year, €16.09 million (24 percent) has now been applied for, according to a look by AutoWeek at the figures from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
So SEPP subsidy has been applied for for 5,454 new electric cars. There is still €50.91 million (76 percent) in subsidy budget for new electric cars available, enough for another 17,257 new electric cars. So there is no reason to get stressed yet.
Electric occasion
Of the €99.4 million in the subsidy pot this year, €32.4 million is intended this year for the purchase (or private lease) of a used electric car with an original catalog value of €45,000. €6.98 million has now been forgiven. You can receive a financial contribution of €2,000 on the purchase (or private lease) of a used EV. This means that a subsidy has been applied for for 3,490 used electric cars. There is still €25.42 million left (78 percent) and so there is a budget available for another 12,710 electric used cars.
If we compare the state of the subsidy pot with a month ago, it is striking that slowly but surely more claims are being made for SEPP subsidies for a used electric car. The position of the part of the subsidy budget that is intended for used EVs. is now 7 percentage points lower than a month ago (new: -5 percent).
The total subsidy pot was filled this year with an amount of €99.4 million. A total of €23.07 million has been applied for (23.2 percent), leaving €76.33 million left (76.8 percent).
