Tesla: new generation cars 50 percent cheaper to produce

Tesla held its annual Investor Day on Wednesday. During that event, Tesla highlighted the current state of affairs and briefly looked ahead to the future, but against all expectations concrete information about the arrival of a model under the Tesla Model 3 was not forthcoming.

CEO Elon Musk confirmed the arrival of a new Gigafactory in Mexico during the annual Investor Day and Musk also reiterated that the Cybertruck will go into production in 2024. It is not yet known which car it will produce in Mexico. The Mexican Gigafactory may become the birthplace of a new and cheaper model, although the brand is still tight-lipped about the arrival of a model below the Tesla Model 3.

Tesla does indicate that it will be able to produce cars in the future at up to 50 percent lower costs than cars such as the Model 3 and Model Y. The powertrains must also be cheaper to produce. In any case, the brand has huge growth plans. Tesla’s production capacity is currently 2 million cars annually, but it should be as many as 20 million in the future. Tesla, among other things, dropped a slide on which not one, but two hitherto unknown models could be seen under a canvas. These newcomers should play a major role in Tesla’s future.

Tesla says, among other things, that it will build more new factories, production facilities that it can also build faster than ever. In addition, Tesla believes that heat pumps will play a major role in the future and that Tesla will also focus on that technology.
