Last weekend, Frédéric Fourgeaud, founder of Mash Motorcycles and director of motorcycle importer Sima, passed away. The 68-year-old former road racing driver has succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic accident at his workshop.

The news that Frédéric Fourgeaud passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon after a tragic accident in his workshop is almost too bizarre and unreal and hit us very hard. Fred was director of Sima (Société d’Importation de Motos et d’Accessoires) since 2006, importer of Royal Enfield and Moto Morini, among others.
The former driver, who has been active in French motorsport for years and has also participated several times in the Bol d’Or and Le Mans, made his boyhood dream come true in 2012 and founded his own motorcycle brand Mash Motorcycles, which in a short time in France to become the largest brand in the 125cc.
The terrible news comes after Fred decided to take over the presidency from Sima again, 8 months after he left it to take some time off and enjoy life as he used to.
Frédéric Fourgeaud was a mechanic, racing driver, entrepreneur and businessman, but above all a passionate and characterful man who commanded a lot of respect.
Despite this sudden departure and the great void he will leave with all of Sima’s staff, his entire team will continue to uphold the values he has defended all his life.
Motorfreaks sends its sincere condolences to his sons, Jules and Hugues, to his family, to his loved ones and to all the people who have crossed the path of this passionate and sincere man.
