The almost 6 meter long Ford F-150 Lightning comes from the United States and brands such as Chevrolet, Ram and even Tesla will soon come with huge electric trucks with an open loading platform. An electric pick-up will also be coming from Italy soon, but it operates with its length of 3 meters and a bit on the other side of the size spectrum. This is the Giannini Uso!

You may know Giannini Automobili from the Fiat 500 converted to 350 hp strong rally monster which the company presented about six years ago, but now the Italian company is in the spotlight with a completely different model. This is the Giannini Uso, a 3.17 meter short electric pickup that looks relatively rugged, but the engine is quite modest. Although its appearance suggests otherwise, the Uso does not even have four-wheel drive.

The Giannini Uso is an extremely compact pick-up with room for two people. On the rear axle is an electric motor with a peak power of 40 hp and 120 Nm. There the Uso reaches a top speed of 90 km / h. The continuous power is 20 hp, which puts the little one in the class of quadrimobiles. Thanks to this classification, the Uso does not have to meet all kinds of safety requirements that regular commercial vehicles or passenger cars must meet.

The electric motor draws its zest for life from a 21 kWh battery, good for a range of 235 kilometers that is certainly not wrong. If you put the Uso on off-road rubber, you have to settle for an electric range of 140 kilometers. The battery pack can be charged with a 6.6 kW on-board charger.

The cargo bed of the Giannini Uso is 1.1 meters deep and you can store up to 250 kilograms of material in it. The Uso also has an extendable ‘drawer’ of 75 centimeters long that can handle up to 150 kilos. Air conditioning is standard, as is what Giannini describes as hard-wearing artificial leather upholstery.

Giannini is asking $28,500 for the Uso. That excludes local taxes.
