Faraday Future FF 91 finally ‘in production’

Faraday Future has finally cranked up production for its first car. The Faraday Future FF 91 has been built since March 29. At least, that’s how we have to assume from the American-Chinese company.

For a long time we thought it would never happen again, but earlier this year it was announced that Faraday Future has raised enough money to put the FF 91 into production. Now it has actually happened, the brand proudly reports. On March 29, last Wednesday, production of the more than 1,000 hp electric FF 91 started. An important milestone for the company, which had to put the production of the FF 91 on hold last year because more money was needed. Faraday Future said in February that it raised $135 million from various investors. That’s less than the $170 million it said it still needed in December, but apparently enough to start building.

We just have to make a big comment on the happy news. We do not see a finished FF 91, but only a bare one body. Not a single photo shows a fully finished FF 91, nor do we get to see the production line. That does not really inspire confidence that it will all work out now, on the other hand, it may have to do with the fact that Faraday Future is holding a new ‘launch event’ for the FF 91 on April 26. Perhaps we will get only see the FF 91 in its real production guise for the first time. Incidentally, Faraday Future previously stated that it wants to deliver the first cars in April. Perhaps that will be later. Still plenty of uncertainties, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire!
