With rear or four-wheel drive

Now that the electric station wagon is also on the rise, EVs will soon be available in almost all imaginable shapes and sizes, although you can still buy compact electric open two-seaters. Soon! This is the electric MG Cyberster!
About two years ago, MG showed off the Cyberstar. That was a fierce-looking study model with which MG hinted at the arrival of an electric roadster. AutoWeek was able to show you the final production version of the Cyberster on patent image twice before. Both with the hood open and in closed capacity. We now have the actual car in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Transport and Information Technology!
This also answers the question of which model name the production version of the Cyberster will receive. What seems? The open two-seater does not get a number in its name, but is simply called ‘Cyberster’. We can also tell you the dimensions of the Cyberster. The MG Cyberster is 4.54 meters long, 1.91 meters wide and 1.33 meters low. The wheelbase is 2.69 meters. This makes it considerably longer than the Mazda MX-5, which reaches a length of 3.92 meters. The MG Cyberster is even 21 centimeters longer than the BMW Z4. You can already feel it coming: the MG Cyberster with its electric powertrain is not exactly a featherweight. According to its Chinese registration data, the Cyberster weighs 1,850 kilograms in the base and there are also versions that weigh 1,885 kilograms and even 1,985 kilograms.

Multiple versions? Certainly. We already have data about the powertrains. The lightest variant has a 314 hp electric motor on the rear axle. Above that comes a variant with a 340 hp electric motor that also only deals with the rear wheels. The heaviest version has four-wheel drive and therefore has two electric motors. In addition to the 340 hp electric motor at the rear, this four-wheel drive variant also has a 204 hp electric motor that provides the front wheels with zest for life.
The rear light section consists of two outward-pointing arrows, vertical parts and an LED bar running the entire width of the butt that connects the two separate parts. The loading opening of the MG Cyberster is placed in the left rear screen.
MG will be 100 years old in 2024 and it seems that the Chinese parent company SAIC wants to celebrate that party with this Cyberstar. Information regarding the European market may follow soon.
