The first

Seat has been in the Netherlands for 40 years this year and it all started here with the Ronda. Well, in 2023 you can only be very careful if you want to encounter one of these. At least this light blue Seat Ronda is still there!
We will forgive you if the Seat Ronda has sunk very far in your memory or can not be found there at all (anymore). When will you come across another Ronda? According to our data, there are less than 30 units with an active license plate left in the Netherlands. That makes this spot from AutoWeek forum member RDW quite special. He just came across this light blue copy in a public parking lot.
Time for a refresher. The Seat Ronda was a special model for several reasons. To begin with, it was the first model officially delivered by Seat in the Netherlands. In addition, it was also the first model that Seat released after the break with Fiat. That sounds more exciting than it was, because the Ronda was essentially little more than a slightly modified Seat Ritmo, which in turn was a Fiat Ritmo built under license by Seat. Seat had to rename and adjust the Ritmo after the division of property with Fiat and then came up with this Ronda, which, according to Fiat, was still far too similar to the Ritmo. Judge yourself.
Seat Ronda.
So here is a special piece of Seat history. The previous owner apparently knew that too, or there was another reason not to part with it easily, because he owned the Ronda 1.5 GLX from 1987 (possibly even from new) to 2021. That’s taking a long time with your stuff! The current owner has therefore taken him out of a warm nest. Based on the photos, the Ronda does not seem to have had a too hard life, but here and there some things have appeared on the car with which it has not rolled out of the showroom new. We will forgive him for that. It is beautiful and seems to be able to stay on the road for a while. Nice!
