Electric and strongest Jaguar ever coming in 2025

Despite the fact that Jaguar Land Rover had a highly positioned EV in its range relatively early with the Jaguar I-Pace, the English group is certainly not at the forefront when it comes to electric cars. A gigantic investment of €17 billion should change that.
The Jaguar I-Pace is currently the only electric car offered by Jaguar Land Rover. Although the manufacturer now offers a lot of plug-in hybrids, it does not want to succeed with electric models. The company previously parked planned models as an electric XJ successor in the refrigerator. With a mega investment of over €17 billion that Jaguar Land Rover is injecting into itself over five years, it should be ready for the EV future.
The factory that Jaguar Land Rover has in Halewood is being converted into a production location where only electric models will be produced. Jaguar Land Rover’s next-generation SUVs will feature on the Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). Previously, combustion engine versions were planned for that platform, but Jaguar Land Rover is now talking about one pure-electric-platform. The brand does, however, retain the existing MLA base on which cars such as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are built for models that, in addition to EVs, must also be available with combustion engines, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. After all, not every car market is the same, the English argue.
Jaguar Land Rover wants to be a ‘modern luxury car manufacturer’ by 2030, prioritizing electric cars. The company aims to return to profitability in 2026. That has also been different. Also striking: Jaguar Land Rover describes itself as a brand house with brands such as Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar. This therefore seems to indicate that the Land Rover model lines mentioned are developing into sub-brands. For example, the Range Rover family currently consists of the ‘full-size’ Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport, and the Discovery line also consists of a large Discovery and a smaller Sport derivative. So expect the Defender family to grow as well. Jaguar is simply portrayed as Jaguar.
Jaguar
Jaguar will be introducing three completely new models in the coming years, including an electric four-door GT that it will produce in Solihull. That EV must have a range of 700 kilometers and must also become the strongest Jaguar ever. Its expected starting price: converted a not-nauseous €115,000. That electric Jaguar will be on another new platform called JEA, which will only be used by Jaguar. The platform letters probably stand for Jaguar Electrified/Electric Architecture. This new model should be unveiled in 2024 and will be delivered in 2025. According to Chief Creative Officer, the new Jaguar is a completely different brand than the Jaguar you know now. ‘A Copy of Nothing’, said McGovern.
Range Rover
Range Rover will open order books for a fully electric version of the current one later this year full size Range Rover. Range Rover will add a new mid-sized electric SUV to its delivery range in 2025, which will be placed on the EMA platform.
Jaguar Land Rover already presents us with a shadowy teaser plate showing something of one of the newcomers.
